Kazakhstan welcomes China’s work on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and considers a peaceful solution to this problem based on the principles of the UN Charter uncontested, the republic’s Foreign Ministry said.
This position « deserves support, » the Foreign Ministry said in a statement released on Saturday.
« We consider that there is no alternative to a peaceful solution to this problem solely on the basis of international law and the principles of the UN Charter, » the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan stressed.
Astana advocates that the parties involved in the military conflict « Show goodwill, stop hostilities and sit at the negotiating table as soon as possible and the international community should play its role in all possible ways for a diplomatic solution to this situation.
« Kazakhstan also emphasizes the similarity of our countries’ approaches to solving urgent problems of our time, set out in the Concept of the Global Security Initiative of the People’s Republic of China, » the statement says.
Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a statement, which, in particular, called for a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine and the start of a negotiation strategy.
In a previous post, China called for the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine and the start of the negotiation process in a published statement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
« All parties must maintain rationality and restraint, not add fuel to the fire, not aggravate conflicts, dodge further aggravation of the Ukrainian crisis or even spiral out of control, » the document says.
It notes that it is necessary « to sustain Russia and Ukraine in advancing towards each other, to continue direct dialogue ASAP. »
« Discussion and negotiations are the only viable way to decide the Ukrainian crisis, » the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed.
He noted that « the international community should (…) create conditions and provide a platform for the resumption of negotiations, » and China is ready to continue to play a productive role in this regard.
